First (Official) Race
Hello!
“Want to go to a furry convention” was not the call to action I expected that would lead to my first, official, drone race event.
This Wednesday, a fellow FPV pilot and friend hit me up about a Tiny Whoop FPV race hosted by MultiGP. Naturally, my first reaction was, “Tiny Whoops at a furry convention? Alright, I’m in.”
Now, this is kind of a big deal for me. I’ve always been more comfortable flying my 65mm tiny drones, so the thought of racing them is a whole new ballgame. It’s one thing to fly around my usual spots, but a race is a different challenge—especially in a setting like this. I’m used to flying in quieter, open spaces, but a convention full of people, costumes, and all the energy of an event? That’s a whole new vibe.
I’ve been flying for a while, but until now, I’ve mostly just kept things low-key. This race feels like a jump into something bigger—and honestly, a little nerve-wracking. But that’s what makes it exciting. I’ll be pushing myself as a pilot, stepping out of my comfort zone, and trying something totally different.
I’m excited to see how I handle it. There’s something cool about testing your skills in a new environment, especially when you’re surrounded by a bunch of people who are just as into drones as you are. Who knew a furry convention could be the perfect place for a Tiny Whoop race? But here I am, getting ready for something I’m sure is going to be memorable.
I’ll keep you posted on how it goes—ready to dive in, have fun, and most importantly, learn a ton!
